DIY:
I used another DIY to complete this gift, and they suggested using a sharp knife to cut the crayons. However, after my first gift melted I found it much faster to use a pair of sharp scissors to cut the crayons. It took me half the time to make this gift the second time around after I discovered this trick. Good luck!
